Letter from Colden, New York City, to Dudley Woodbridge, Marietta, Ohio, re. non-payment of taxes on Ohio Company lots due to the "insurrection upon Ohio and the intercepting of letters by Col. Burr's partisans." Also mentions desire to sell his land but, "can find no map of that country" to know its location.

Dudley Woodbridge was born in Stonington, Conn. on Oct. 9, 1747. After graduating from Yale University in 1766, he moved on Norwich, Conn. He married Lucy Backus on Apr. 28, 1774. In 1788 they moved to Marietta, Ohio, where Mr. Woodbridge served as judge of the peace. He died in Marietta on Aug. 6, 1823. From the description of Dudley Woodbridge papers, 1729-1837.
